Artist Statement

Adam M. Pessah is a professionally trained and experienced artist and art therapist. Adam holds a BFA in illustration from The School of Visual Arts, a MFA in fine art from The New York Academy of Art, and a dual MA in clinical art therapy and mental health counseling from LIU Post. He has worked as a freelance portrait artist since 2006 and has painted numerous murals throughout the New York City area; in 2015, Adam collaborated on a grant-assisted public art project that was featured in the Bushwick Gazette. He has worked as a scenic artist on feature films, including Precious, an art handler at the Museum of the City of New York, and a studio assistant. He has shown drawings and paintings at both commercial and non-commercial art galleries in New York and on digital platforms. Adam is currently pursuing a career in clinical art therapy.
